Aging & Glutathione

Healthy aging is associated with high levels of glutathione in the body. Low levels of glutathione are associated with unhealthy aging. High levels of free radicals in the body are also associated with unhealthy aging. Oxidative stress plays a major role in the aging process. It damages cells, muscle tissue, and organs. Studies have shown that by raising glutathione levels, our cells are repaired of this damaging effect.
Glutathione plays a crucial role in mediating free radical damage & maintaining the oxidant/anti oxidant balance. When glutathione is depleted this tilts the balance in favor of the oxidants - resulting in oxidative stress.  Glutathione helps scavenge the free radicals and may result in a healthier aging process.
